Nintendo has announced a new DSi system bundle at a cost of $170 that includes a FREE copy of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story; The hit third game in Nintendo’s awesome and hilarious RPG series starring the brothers Mario.
This new bundle includes a white-colored DSi system and is being offered as the new “Spring bundle”. The bundle will be available in stores starting on April 25th. Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story itself retails for $40, so if you don’t yet have a DSi and want to get the game for free (or know someone who’d enjoy it), then this is a great time to take the “DSi Dive”.
What’s curious though is why this new bundle includes the original Nintendo DSi and not the DSi XL. The only reason might be that Nintendo is hoping to clear out some of their old inventory of regular DSi systems to make room for the DSi XL.
Then again, Nintendo has done this kind of “promote the old hardware” bundling in the past when it comes to their portable systems. As just over a month after the release of the DSi, Nintendo offered a new DS Lite bundle that came in a Lime Green color and was bundled with a free copy of the “Personal Trainer: Cooking” game. And in the UK Nintendo offered a DS Lite bundled with Professor Layton and the Curious Village, not long after the DSi released in that region . . . curious.
